Company History

Founded by William Melin in 1940 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 1949, the company moved to Cleveland. The company continues to be a family owned manufacturer of high quality premium cobalt (M42) and carbide end mills. A few of the recent changes at Melin:
• Addition of a complete line of carbide end mills to include stub, standard, long and extra long lengths. Specialized cutters such as roughers, corner radius, corner rounding, drill point, chamfer mills and high helix tools have been added as well.
• Continued heavy investment in modern CNC machinery… All tools are CNC ground. Tours welcome!
• Upgraded to state of the art visual inspection equipment to enhance their ISO 9002 certified quality system.
• Unconditional guarantee on all products.
• Improved marketing efforts which include comprehensive trade show participation, customized litera ture, advertising promotional video, custom software, and full featured web site.
